US Air Force Reconnaissance planes recently reported that the system we have been monitoring with little change over the past few days has strengthened into Tropical Storm Debby this afternoon over the central Gulf of Mexico. Current model guidance is still in some disagreement, however the storm is predicted to make a Westward turn toward Texas over the next 12-24 hours. Potential impacts on the Texas coast could be seen as early as Thursday, but it is still too early for exact timing at this time. Keep an eye on the Gulf over the next few days. Stay tuned for future reports.
