All,
Just a quick update on the tropics…
Former Ana
The remnants of Ana, a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms, are now emerging into the Gulf of Mexico. Florida is the primary area at risk if any redevelopment occurs.
Hurricane Bill
Hurricane Bill has reached major hurricane status as a Category 4, with a high potential of becoming even stronger before weakening. At present, forecast models are in strong agreement that it will avoid striking the U.S. coast. Rough surf is expected along portions of the East Coast over the weekend and into early next week.
Additional Development
No additional cyclone development is expected within the next 48 hours. Information on tropical weather developments, including Hurricane Bill, is available on the National Hurricane Center website http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/
