Temperatures are predicted to bottom out at 28-32 degrees in these areas Tuesday morning. Temperatures could remain below freezing for as long as 6 hours in the northern portions of Southeast Texas and 1-3 hours for the Houston Suburbs and inland portions of the coastal zones.
Take precautions for your pets, plants, and pipes.
Weekend Winter Weather Potential
Forecasters are currently predicting a very strong cold front will cross the Houston area on Saturday afternoon or evening, with the ultimate timing somewhat uncertain. The front is not predicted to bring much rain to the region at this time. The system has the potential to bring us the coldest week of the season so far.
The coming front could bring a widespread freeze to Houston by Sunday night and into Monday morning, with daytime highs on Sunday and Monday perhaps only in the 40s.
