Tropical Storm Don Forms…

 As of approximately 4pm CST, the tropical wave that was to the east of the Mexican peninsula has strengthened and formed into Tropical Storm Don.  Current maximum sustained winds are at 40mph, the storm is moving at 12mph to the NW.  The storm is expected to make landfall on the Texas coast Friday night or Saturday morning.  The main threat with the storm is expected to be rainfall and the potential for high winds.  NOAA HPC currently shows only a 2-4in rain potential for the event at this time.  This rainfall could be beneficial for many areas of the Texas coast and inland areas that have been in drought conditions for the past few months.  This is a fast moving storm that should be monitored closely.
