Very wet end of the week into the weekend expected. Potential for excessive rainfall and some flooding.
Coastal trough along the TX coast this morning combined with deep tropical moisture (moisture levels over 150% above normal) will support numerous showers and thunderstorms today. Radar is already active off the coast and this heavy rainfall will be spreading inland this morning. Will continue to see periods of rain through late Friday. Atmospheric conditions for extreme rainfall are present and are predicted to remain though Sunday.
There is a risk of a surface low pressure system spin-up in the Gulf over the weekend we will be watching closely which could increase our rainfall chance on Saturday and Sunday as well as the risk for tropical development.
